Initial Idea Map 14/9/2023

Title question:

                                                          Are EV's the future of transport?                                                             

From my initial ideas mind map i have decided to research using secondary sources first of all the cost of these vehicles including initial purchase price and running costs. This is in order to be able to analyse whether due to the costs these cars are only available to people on higher incomes, additionally it allows me to see whether paying high price for these vehicles is worth it with the mission of saving the earth from emissions.

I then want to research the difference in emissions between electric and ICE cars including the making of the engine/battery in order to see whether the promised emission reduction is true or whether the technology is yet to be at a level where we can confidently buy an EV over an ICE knowing we are contributing to saving the earth.

Then i want to research whether the new technologies these electric vehicles bring are safe and  beneficial. Allowing me to find whether we should move to EV's as soon as we can afford one or wait until they are safer.

I will group these factors by their connection to each other: Economic, Environmental and Technological. For each source, I will paraphrase, summarise and evaluate the reliability and relevance as well as say how my research is sequential.

In order to make sure I follow a plan I have created a blog post with a task check list highlighting aims and objectives as well as deadlines for me to meet to make sure i will have all research complete and evaluated before i write my dissertation.
